Anyone have any knowledge about projectors? Need to show photos on a 5×5 foot screen, from about 12 foot away in highest possible quality. Room will be dark.

I’ve asked on photo forums but got no answer and googling projectors gives too many answers!

    Data or slide?

Standard procedure for data is to borrow one from work. This applies to most industries.

Slide projecter – Hire one from an AV company.

Making the room dark is a good idea.

Use a white wall if you dont have a screen.

I have an extensive lecture and associated learning pack on oesophogeal vacuums and eggs if you are interested. Cost is £300 and you get to stay in a hotel for 2 days. 😉

Data rather than slide, have a 5×5 foot projector screen, projector about 12-14 foot away from screen. Have to buy outright, can’t beg, borrow or steal (apparently, though I’m working on this!)

Native XGA resolution (1024 x 768) should be good enough whilst keeping cost reasonable; get one that lets you run a slideshow from a USB memory stick and it’ll save you carrying a computer around too.
