on my thursday eve ride I saw a couple of people camping up on top of Cissbury Ring.

first question: anyone know are you allowed to camp up there?

On my friday eve ride they'd gone, but had left behind a black bin bag of rubbish and a few 2l water bottles.

second question: should I have done anything on thursday?

Why do people who apparently love the countryside enough to want to camp on it, leave it in such a mess?

    Kids?

We were up Cissbury/Steyning/SDW area on Tuesday night and the number of people who were out camping was quite surprising. I think we counted 4 groups in total in about 3 hours of riding and all of them were kids wanting to have a night out with their mates.

As for camping on Cissbury itself i don't think the NT who own it have a problem with it as long as you clear up after yourselves but you can't tell before hand who is going to do this and who isn't.

Oh and no you shouldn't have said anything unless they were acting in a way that was illegal or anti social.
