I really like the FireX but want a bit more volume. Is Rampage the one?

Not quite, the Fire FR is the bigger version of the Fire XC.

Thanks – looked at the FR buts its way too much tyre for my xc duties.

A more rounded profile than the Fire XC, makes them better in the corners, ramped knobs make them a bit faster rolling.

    Really good all round tyre.

Anybody know how wide they come up compared to mountain kings. The MK's felt like rubbish on my 719's.

i used to run Fire XC's religously – great tyre. Then had Vertical 2.3's, now on Rampages.
The rampages are amazing, Conti's were quicker, but I think i prefer the Rampages for all-round hammering. Light too for such a big tyre.
They come up a tad bigger than the Contis, but i think very similar to MK's (presuming you mean MK 2.4's?).
(BTW – i run Syncros AM DP25's, so probably a tad wider than your Mavics.)

Yea I did mean MK 2.4's. New wheel time me thinks. The feel of a big volume tyre is very addictive.

If you get wider rims – you'll be amazed the difference in how the same tyre performs, enjoy!
