Hope whoever it was is OK. Any idea who it was?

“”””””””A man was at the centre of a two and a half hour rescue effort after he fell off his mountain bike in the Wyre Forest in Worcestershire last night.

West Midlands Ambulance Service received a 999 call at around 7.30pm yesterday evening (Sunday) to reports of a man who had been injured bike riding in the Wyre Forest, between Button Oak and Button Bridge Lane, near Clogs Bank.

An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, paramedics from the Trust’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) and an incident support officer attended the scene.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “The ambulance crew and responder paramedic navigated the 4×4 responder vehicle through two miles of muddy, difficult terrain to reach the patient with help from a local man who had knowledge of the forest.

“Eventually they found the mountain biker who had reportedly gone over the handlebars of his bike, landing in a small brook. The man sustained a lower back injury, a fractured collar bone and suspected abdominal injuries.

“The land crew and responder paramedic treated the man and stabilised his condition before being joined by HART paramedics. The man was carefully immobilised and lifted onto HART’s specialised all terrain six-wheeled Polaris vehicle before being transferred out of the forest.

“Two and a half hours after the initial 999 call, the man was then taken by land ambulance on blue lights to Princess Royal Hospital in Telford for further assessment and treatment.

“This was a particularly difficult incident to deal with due to the location, rain, mud and darkness. The fact that crews were able to get the man and treat him so quickly is credit to the team work between the land crew, responder paramedic and HART.””””

Not again!! Last time somebody fell down the cliff whilst taking a leak.

Healing vibes to the injured party though.

Not one of our little tribe , I don’t think.
Hope whoever it is recovers well.
There was an ambulance making it’s way into the forest from Dowles carpark, last weekend too, not sure if that wasn’t a biker as well ?

I was thinking the same rocketdog, access to the Wyre is probably going to get restricted pretty soon.

Having ridden there since 1999 after moving to live locally and admittedly, ridden much more often last 10 /12 mths. I’ve also not followed the forum til recently. However I’d agree, I don’t know many of the regulars by name, more a nod and Hi. But there are a lot of riders up there at the moment. Not sure if long dry spells are getting more out ? I’ve certainly been asked by more visiting riders from far afield about where to park or ride at the weekends especially.

EDIT; I tend to ride early on sundays ( otherwise weekday afternoons), often back at car park or pub by 11am and find loads about to go out and ride.

Dont think the trail of gel packets and empty water bottles will help much either.Maybe the water bottles aren’t bikers, but ffs take it ‘ome.

The article was vague enough i thought, no routes etc and i thought the fact its not a waymarked trail centre might keep the WW away

Agree about the litter, ive picked other peoples rubbish up before now and binned it, its not difficult is it?

I’ve started riding with the trailer and come home with multiple black bags full of rubbish at times.

    Get well soon,dude.

Access to the Wyre IS restricted, by the way.

GPX routes being posted up here by certain people doesnt really help matters.
Keep it secret, keep it safe!
