I have followed this thread throughout and now feel utterly confused. Should I feel pity for some poor parrot who died and the lady who bought it. Or should I be laughing at the madness of it all?

The joke is, that the parrot was dead - not asleep.
This confusion, between being asleep, and being dead, is amusing and humorous. Apparently.

Her name is Mercede, because her dad always wanted one,car that is, and her boyfreind loves to say down the pub im off home now to screw Mercedes.
