  • New chain grinding old cog- old one back on?

    I popped a link on my singlespeed chain the other day. I bought a new chain just for the snaplink really, but then I reckoned the ring and cog should be OK so just put the new chain on.
    It’s sounding like a bag of hammers now, so my question is:

    Get another snaplink and put the old chain back on, or get a new cog (and hope the chainring isn’t too worn)?

    Do another few rides and it’ll quieten down. Unless your teeth are looking really bad…

    Got a new cog from CRC for £3 and now it’s nice and smooth again.
