The C2W comment. You can pay over 1000 quid if you have licence to do so or can pay extra and have the normal 1k limit so doesn’t mean it’s dodgy at all.

Bike looks absolutely awesome. Quite like it.

Sorry about that. Not my fault, honest.
    But they would.

Funnily enough I’ve just ordered a pair of wtb resolutes (brown sidewalls FTW) for when mine arrives. Any ideas how she’ll go off-road with them on?

Resolutes are great, available from the Germans still. If gumwall isn’t your thing try maxxis ravager (not sure they do 650 come to think of it).

I noticed the seatpost, as I’d like a lever operated one for one of my bikes. What kind is it?

I’d love a Slate! Dunno who the haterz are.. roadiez probly.

Questions – The Post Office does Cycle to Work scheme? Do you have to use it just to get to the depot or for your rounds too?

I wouldn’t go advertising that they let you have more than the 1k limit (even if it’s a top up & yrs i know everyone does it) coz the CTWS people might withdraw the shops agreement which would be financially a bummer for them.

Some schemes have a higher limit (ours is £3K)?

Slate with Resolutes, grip is good and they roll pretty well on tarmac too.

Posterich, slate tyres seem hard to come by, took me a bit of googling but you can get schwalbe g one evos from sjs cycles, and wtb resolutes from bike24.

Surly Knards are an option locally, was thinking of going 1×11 as a priority

In which case may I recommend one of these?

    Tanpan

I’ll be sticking with 2×11 but will be 46/36 front with 11-36 rear

    Looks a great bike!!

Been looking at a slate. I like different bikes! Couldn’t get my c2w to stretch or a seller to let me pay the difference and as I want a new road bike this year from my normal free cash, the state will have to wait.

Jonny Boi interested in that, do I still need to change the rear mech from a roadie one to a say XT ?

You’ve got a couple of options, 105 mid cage mech will let you use a 11-32 road cassette.

After that you are in mtb cassette territory so you need a new mech and the tanpan to fix the shifting between road shifters and mtb mech. Why the hell shimano made their 11spd road and mtb shift differently is beyond me.

Think a slight adjustment to a 11 32 will help me will see how it goes £30 at evans

Seems to be a lot of PR’s on that Strava plot. Was that the new bike or were you having a good day?
