Singular Kite 1st Ride by sheldonattwood, on Flickr

Singular Kite 1st Ride by sheldonattwood, on Flickr

First ride on the Kite this morning despite it being delivered 4 weeks ago, just not had time to build it until yesterday afternoon. Fantastic riding bike if anyone is thinking of getting one, stop thinking and go get it. Better photos over the next few weeks when I’ll take a camera out with me.

I would really like one of those, I keep looking at them, but I need to race it. How light/heavy is that steel build in real life or does it ride better than it weighs?
My current CXer is a Pearson with 105 with white Froglegs like yours.

    Anyway very nice.

Its not light but most of that is the fork. With a carbon fork in there it’ll be much better. (I’m looking at getting a carbon fork but will probably leave it until the end of Jan as I want to ride it as is for now)
I’ve not bothered to weigh it as I’m not all that concerned about it as it rides fantastic.

I think they do their own carbon fork? I know standard headset carbon forks are few and far between now.
I’ve had three seasons in a row of dry bumpy cross races and my alu frame has battered me, which is one of the reasons I fancy one. Plus I’m naturally slowing down with age and think a superlight job might be of no advantage in my hands.
