Mountain bikers causing damage at a SSSI

Anyone know anything about this and the area concerned? If the downhill being used is a bridle path then it's a lot less cut and dried (as it would then appear to be perfectly legit route) than if it's being used as an ad-hoc play area…

Not my neck of the woods, just interested…

One of the problems in that area is there are very few areas suitable for MTB, the Somerset levels are pretty uninspiring (from an MTB viewpoint) and most of the surrounding hills are farmland with mostly footpaths, stiles and gates. Ham Hill country park (nr Yeovil) has limited scope and the next nearest areas will be the Mendips or Quantocks but not exactly on the doorstep.
