  • Mid-Rise Carbon bars for AM – Crank Brothers II bar?

    Hi Chaps,

I’m looking for a carbon bar, which is about 740/750mm with a 25-30mm rise.

The only bar I can find that isn’t extortionate is the Crank Brothers Idoine II AM bar.

Is anyone using this bar? Can you comment on how flexy it actually is?

    Cheers

There was a review I read which said it was very, very flexy relative to the competition

Or I could go Alu with some Easton Havoc instead….

    Any thoughts?

HG – I read that too, but I’ve only seen that on one review, on MTBR I’ve seen other reports of them being great.

One of my concerns is that I’ve gone from a 70mm stem, to a 55mm stem, with a 25mm rise.

Now if I go to a 20mm rise, that’ll put me lower on the bike, so I’m thinking a 30mm bar will give me the flexibility to move the stem down a little if I need, but give me a good height to start with.
