I'm looking for a tyre that will work well and be quite quick in the smooth loamy trails around nottinghamshire but also something that will work well on rocks and wotnot that you get in the peak district, lakes, wales and trail centres. Would a crossmark be suitable if i got a large volume version? or should i go for something like a high roller and live with the slightly slower rolling?

Well many riders in the megavalanche use a crossmark on the back and a highroller up front and thats pretty rough rock. Maxxis have all these new ones out now like the Monorail. Personally I stick with highrollers on my tougher bikes and thin advantages on my XC
