I have a rare saturday off tomorrow……has anyone ridden the marin or penmachno trails today and can advise about fallen trees?

    From MTB Ranger on FB
    No mention about Penmachno.

“There are quite a few trees down on the Gwydir MTB trails. At least 10 on the first climb from the trailhead. And various trees down around the rest of the trail.

Realistically I won’t be able to get them cleared until sometime next week.

There is still a section closed on the last descent with a diversion in place.

If you do try and ride the trail, be prepared to climb over and around a lot of trees and watch out for branches on the trail. A few riders today gave up on the first climb!”

Did the Marin Trail today, sort of!
From the Trailhead to the bench leading to the first descent there are 19 trees across the trail!
Some are easy enough to get over some are not. It took us 30 minutes longer than normal to get to that bench.
Also, there is lots of small branches and twigs on the trail flicking into rear mechs.
It was a lovely day to be out though.
