    Nope as it gets shoved up to the top when making, although folk will do it to tell you it tastes better.

    most important rule IMO is not to wash it. Rinse and dry only.

    The coffee oil gets into the aluminium and stops it tainting the coffee.

    Do you really need a proper Bialetti or will one on the many clones do?

    BTW don't put it in the dishwasher – strips off the finish.

    Replace the rubber seal regularly too…
