Magicshine SSC P7 Battery Charging

Hi,

I have just bought an SSC P7 and used it on my first ride.

The battery life is stated as 3 hours and I used it for 2. I was wondering whether I should run the battery down fully before I charge it up again with it being it's first use.

Have others done this or is it un-necessary? Thanks.

Just charge it up.

You will not get full battery life until you have used it for a few rides.

Li-ion batteries work best if they're not fully discharged (you can't anyway, the cell protection will kick in before that). Just recharge them, there's no benefit to doing full charge cycles (unlike Ni-Cad) as they don't have the memory effect.

whatever you do, make sure you waterproof the battery as it really really does not like getting wet. I've gone through 2 battery packs before realising what the cause was.
