What's better? Machined jockey wheels or plastic? The machined ones look nicer, but i would guess the plastic wheels would cause less wear / damage on the chain. Is that the case?
Also, are ceramic bearings really that much better than sealed bearings?

I had trouble with replacement jockey wheels recently and upgraded to KCNC. So far really good and they do not collect Krap like the resin variety. There are several makes on the market; but mine came from Koo Bikes via Amazon.
I've got some Mt Zoom ones which are incredibly light, come with ceramic bearings, cost less than most 'posh' alu jockey wheels (and OEM Shimano ones!), and are lasting really well. No brainer for me!
anyone used the KCNC for some time? Do they damage the chain?
Why would they damage the chain, they're softer than it is!
that's what i'm trying to find out. I just figured metal on metal would wear badly.
Been using some kcnc ones i got for a tenner from canada for about 6 or 7 months, working nicely, dont get full of crap like plastic ones which is nice, bearings still fine too.
Wouldnt pay £35 or whatever they cost tho...

Nope, no difference at all IME.
I just stripped down my sram wheels - soaked in wd40 - cleaned - regressed! like new!
alloy jockeys are noisier than plastic ones..
Never heard additional noise going to KCNC but I do have a chain guide and hope rear hub so it would be tricky to make more noise!
Agree I've not noticed any noise either. Your cassette and chainring teeth are made of metal - drivetrain noise (and wear) from the jockeys is insignificant...

My XX ones lasted one (admittedly very muddy) 4 hour race, totally round after that. £120 please.
I've used KCNC's for around 12 months - they're holding up very nicely, haven't eaten any chains and my bike adheres to the principle of silence 
Thats wierd, using brand new blackspire rings, kmc x9 chain, pg990 cassette & XT shadow mech my drivetrain was utterly silent when lubed. Put the kcnc jockeys on and the bike always sounded a bit chainey..(if thats a word)...mech was adjusted fine to allow that the kcnc wheels dont have float on the top pulley, put the xt jockeys on and silent again. Same on gf bike that i tried em on, maybe i got an iffy pair..
