Just thought I'd share this, finished yesterday. The new Helix Tubed 29er from Lynskey. Well chuffed

Very nice! Are they Ravens? What are they like?

That is really nice. One of the few 29ers that just look reet (though i'd go for silver finishing kit)

They are actually the Crows, I ordered Ravens, it said Ravens on the box, turned out to be Crows, couldn't be bothered sending them back and they compensated me with a quart of Stans sealant.

They are VERY light, a shade over 400g on the kitchen digi's, roll very well at about 25psi. Only a ride or two old, so can't comment further. I suspect they will be quite delicate and bloody expensive!!!!

I agree with you n silver, but its what I had and I'm still reeling from the frame purchase!!!!

That tubeset looks fooking weird!? What's the login behind the twistyness – Stronger/lighter/faster? Or just a way to more interestingly display decals? 😉

The Helix tubeset is supposedly 20% stiffer for the same weight as plain. No idea whether that's bollix or not, but I like it 🙂

Why such a small frame? That looks like nigh on 50% seat post between the BB and the saddle.

Its what Lynskey recommended for my height, they have shortened the seatpost significantly from last year but the top tube etc is the same. Either way, it fits me great. 16.5" seat tube, 11.5" seatpost showing…I like it.

Very nice, full on bike porn. Whats the fork like now dt swiss make them? I had one when they first came out and it leaked, sent it back and I was told a little oil loss was normal. Little yes, running down the fork legs, no 🙁

Not sure I'd trust the DT forks or the Stans tyres (I'd probably fit some Reba's and some SB8's myself instead) but that is one beautiful bike!

Thanks Guy's. I do share some concerns about the DT Forks, but I've got 15 months of warranty left on them so hopefully they should be covered, got them for a song so not to worried and they do look stunning. Similar the NoTubes tyres, the do look a bit delicate. I've ordered some Stans kits and Crossmarks for anything a bit gnarlier. They are very light and roll well tho. Its a shade under 24lbs without pedals which I'm pleased with for a big wheeler.

been running a crow for a little while. i don't think they as delicate as they look. grip is ok but obviously a bit of a compromise. nice looking bike.

I just changed my mind about 29ers. That looks lovely!

Going for a similar pace build but with some nice prototype bits and xx!

Thats a really nice build, I was going to go for the Pro but funds dictated a Ridgeline. Lynskeys are great 🙂

Smuzzy… So impressed with the build I have sent Lynskey the Pic and they LOVE IT!

Hope to get ine sorted as the forks turned up t'other day!

Changed my idea on the spec though. Gonna be 2×10 Dura-ace 11-28 cass with Dura-ace Front and rear mechs and finished off with new XTR cranks n shifters. Going for tha race wepon spec!

M6TTF, I'm a hair under 6ft with a 33" leg. I did sort of fall between sizes but Don at Lynskey persuaded me onto the medium which is a 16.5" seat tube. I'm glad he did, it seems perfect

rockitman, The forks are DT Swiss XMC100's I think they are stupid money at full list, but I got them nearly new off the classifieds here for a very good price. I was after Fox 29ers but couldn't stretch to new after reeling from the frame purchase. I do have minor concerns over the DT swiss reliability, but have over a years warrantly left come the worst. They do look stunning in the flesh.

Smuzzy…what's the ride like? Looks like a super build, and a nice weight for a fully geared clown bike with sensible components.

Ride is fantasic,very comfortable for a HT, helped with running tubless at 20psi no doubt. Its very quick and seems to roll over anything. I've a nice build 575 that has hardly turned a wheel since I built this which I used to reckon was a do anything bike.

The Lynskey one will be nowhere near as comfortable as the Van Nic though.

Cool, any flex detected in the wheels? I'll be using Arch rims on my new clown bike too.

Anyway if you like it(an it does look nice) go for it!

Non whatsoever, I did consider 355's (Crest's weren't released at the time) but opted for the slightly tougher Arch's. DT Comp spokes rather than the lighter Super Comps. If Crests had been around, I would probably have opted for them in hindsight.
