Not had chance to get mine on some scales yet
My Rush.

Never weighed it but shouldn't be heavy.
Err Can i ask what constitutes light cos some of them i wouldn't consider light unless you mean lighter than the standard model!
By the weekend I should have my sub 20lb Merida 96 built.
it may even be in the low 19's depending of final spec/fit etc
Pic's to follow
Ooo, is it coming to Sherwood? We can have a weigh off, and discuss whose is going to snap first.
LOL - please, no snapping
Sherwood? what's going on?
we both know that given an extra few £K they could go much lighter - it's just not the done thing to talk about it on here
Plastic bikes are evil.
err sorry that came across a bit snotty when i read it back and that's not what i meant .....opps
H'mm I thought my scales (ok, only bathroom scales) over read. My mates standard 2007 Epic Expert was a little heavier than my 08 Stumpy FSR framed custom build (XT, Hope hoops+mini monos, Thomson elite sp+X4 stem, raceface carbon bars, F120 forks), and it weighs 27 1/2 lb. I could save weight on pedals (DX) and get lighter tyres (FireXC wire) but its not getting anywhere near the weights above
Well just about every part, where do you want to start!?
And how much do you want to spend?
Yes its a sacrifice/tossup of weight/strength/cost. I'm just a bit skeptical of some of the weights spoken of. I mean book weights are as off as car mpg!
I concur Superfly. Sure some of the racing guys bikes they've spent bucketloads on even get stuff at cost are probably stupidly light but there are some weights being quoted here which just can't be right. My bike is built up reasonably but not ultra light for what it is (chameleon). I'd be surprised if it were much under 12kgs/26lbs. Now looking at a few of the bikes i've seen mentioned above it's a much higher/lighter spec. Yet guys are quoting weights which are in excess of 1/2kg/1lb lighter for full sus frames that aren't notably light with specs i don't think are any lighter.
S-Works Enduro in light(ish) build:

'03 Epic in very updated spec:

If I recall correctly the Epic was in the low 24lb range on my scales and the Enduro somewhere between 25 and 26lbs. The Epic isn't the lightest of frames but has some pretty light bits on - SID team forks, carbon bars and post, very light Ti framed saddle, American Classic wheels with Speed King Supersonics, XTR drivetrain and brakes.
Nice and light

21,5lbs (though with some slight changes to the pictured setup).
Err Can i ask what constitutes light cos some of them i wouldn't consider light unless you mean lighter than the standard model!
I guess it depends on the type of full suss bike, personally I'd judge light (for type) is:
up to 21lbs for an xc race machine
up to 25lbs for a up to 140mm travel
and up to 27lb for for 140mm plus
