Yes the bath is best. Then dry where the hole is and mark with chalk or you will lose it. Best to leave the mat to dry really thoroughly before repairing or the little glue dots won’t stick.

If it’s a decent sized hole it can be a lot quicker and less messy to find it listening for the hole and spraying with a plant mister to pinpoint it.
