    I have to say it is slowly dawning on me he was a bloody genius. Really didn’t get it until about 10 years ago, when you give it time it seeps in.

    My parents were big c&w fans so I grew up listening to jonny cash. What a singer.

    I too grew up listening to him. Went to Glastonbury in 93(ish). None of the group i went with wanted to go and see him but I went and he played Boy Named Sue, Jackson, Delias Gone etc. Brilliant. Most of my mates now realise they **** up big time that day.
    Kris Kristofferson is a better song writer as is Guy Clarke and so was Townes Van Zandt but Cash could own any song.

    Not only Sting but Bono as well, how do you measure that level of genius, it’s off the scale.
