    Anyone use the Jagwire complete gear cable kits….Ripcord or Switch and what if any difference is there between the 2 kits?

    I tried the ripcord set on my Hustler. It looked the part, but rear mech cable snapped after 3-4 months and strands of reinforcing wire from the outers tried forcing their way through the ferrules. I'm going back to Gore Ride-on, twice the price, but more than twice as good.

    not quite related, but i have this time on my brompton used jagwire brake cable outer ..

    far better than Shimano brake cableouter i have been using.

    cables on a brompton get a hammering due to the fold – mines gets folded on average 8 times a day – lots of cable bending – the jagwires are still nice and free running after 3 months – shimano normally start to break down after 2 months

    Both my speshs (rockhopper / tricross) came with these. Very impressed with the jagwire outer – it just works!

    I use the Jagwire cables day in and day out at work and not one person has ever complained or had a problem with Jagwire cable sets.

    Ripcord = 'Sealed' bits.
    Switch = No sealing but cool metal braided look.
