Only more Photo's of the little critters i met whilst wandering the SW last year. As some of you enjoyed the last piccys i and others put up the other day, so i thought i'd share some more but this time without my usual long winded musings of it all. But perhaps just a few simple facts.
Here's one of the 24 types of Bumblebee with have in the UK.
The Red tailed Bumblebee.

Known as the Gatekeeper, why? You may ask. I don't know!

I believe this to be a Common Blue(male) given the location i saw it. I did see the rare Adonis and Chalk hill to name a couple more.

And it's underwings.(think i've shown this one before so sorry)

Up next we have a painted lady, as you can see she's not too painted with her wings closed, BTW she's called Vanessa Cardui.

And here she is with them spread.

Moths. Around 2400 different types have been recorded in the UK.
This one is simply called the Silver-Y.

I believe this to be the catterpiller of Oak eggar moth but am open to correction on this one.

One of out most widespread Fritillery's we have here in the UK is the Dark Green Fritillary. Other Fritillary's are available....

More of the unknowns, this one nomming. I lay in the grass watching this one eat and my do they eat quickly...

It was going to eat me next.

A pearl bordered Fritillary, but can you name the flowers?

Say it as you see it. This is the Fat legged beetle, otherwise boringly known as a flower beetle. Shinny!

Finally quite a commonly seen pillar here, but do you know what colour moth it turns into?

Ok, just one more then...

Have a lovely evening where ever you are.
