Waitrose have a 2 for £5 deal on but it’s only just November, I’m torn. 😐

What are the BBE dates?

I’ve been eating them for the last month. In fact, yep, i’m eating one right now.

I’ve got some already, the best before date is early december. They know their market there- we might pretend we’re just organised but in reality, we’re going to eat them as soon as we get home.

If the BBE date is before Chr*stm*s the answer is No.

Mince pies are a seasonal product. 1 December is the earliest appropriate date for their purchase or consumption.

Everything is pumpkin spice until then.

Bought our first ones 3 weeks ago. I did agonise over whether it was too early. But they are so nice..

Sainsburys delivered a couple of boxes last night……….. just need the brandy butter now for me………..

got our first ones a while back, got through 5 or so packets so far, kids keep eating them so last week I got a packet for the kids and a packet for me. On tuesday our youngest, the little bugger, rode his bike into the kitchen, used that as a leg up onto the units and grab my box from the top of the wall cupboard. Grr, there was 1 smashed one left for me when I got home…..and he asked me for that!

There are plenty of good reasons not to eat mince pies but the calendar isn’t one of them.

careful with the Aldi “luxury” ones at £1.15. 1 of my 6 had an incomplete pastry base. Kind of spoilt my mince-pie eating experience. :-/

Suppose it’s the usual suspects selling them? Unless you peeps know of any new stonkingly delicious ones that have been launched to an overcrowded and mediocre market?

It’s essential to start buying and eating them now so you can decide which are the best brand, market research don’t you know 😀 If I remember correctly Waitrose have had them on the shelves for nearly a month. Waitrose and Sainsburys both have 25% off wine at the moment both encouraging you to buy for Christmas now.

You want the legendary Custom PC mince pie review for that. Proper grouptests with statistics and everything. “The Duchy Original pie is the heaviest on test which offsets its higher price somewhat but not the fact that it has the texture of sand”.

Phew, being torn and reading your opinions, makes my just purchased 2 boxes seem in line with everyone else.

First one of the season for me last night. Flaky pastry too, yum.

How much do they want for some mince pies, £5 that is the outrageous bit.

In answer to the question everyday is a good day for eating mince pies.

Mrs Z loves them. She bought 8 puff pastry ones yesterday and cream to go with them.

her indoors doesnt like mince pies, but her mum works in the bakery in sainsburys so “we” get them for free, which is nice 😀
