I once stopped on a street in Cardiff with a puncture on the road bike with steel bead tyres. I had spare tubes and whatnot but no tyre levers. After a while an old guy came out and offered to help – but I'd fixed it by then. Nice tho 🙂

As a kid, I once threw gravel over a toilet cubicle door on top of someone asking for bog roll. Does that count?

Does it not occur to any of the people suffering mechanicals in races / endurance events that the incessant barrage of offers of help might be coming from people who are searching for any opportunity to have a stop and rest, but to make doing so appear altruistic.

Hehe! I was one of those at 10UTB!

The long walk home. Now my mum is the only person in my family never to have been caught. If I was the paranoid sort I might be getting scared.
