maybe the sunday stupid question here… but can you run iphone/ipad apps on a mac?

i’d like to use some of the photo/holga apps and have a mac (albeit an older one), but not phone or pad. possible?

There are often Mac versions of iPhone apps, but not always

Usually, as you would imagine, much more feature rich and in depth.

Have a browse on the Mac App Store…

no, but there is a mac app store now so it seems that people are porting the apps over. Only Snow Leopard AFAIK, so might not work on older macs.

No, the Mac App Store works on Lion, too. 😉

It’s all about what OS they’re designed for. You may get OSX versions of iOS apps, but iOS apps (like Instagram, for example) won’t run on OSX.

Lion is not out till later this month, so apart from developers etc running the GM seed you will be running one of the previous incarnations.

Hit the Apple in the top left corner of your screen and select ‘about this mac’ to see what version you have installed.
