Head to Golspie, maybe just over an hour. Must be about the best trail centre.

You have everything at Aviemore – Rothiemurchus etc.

Or head down to Cannich and Glen Affric.

Don’t waste a good day by going to another trail centre 😉

Golspie sounds good, is the black really as bad as it is made out to be, im relativeley new to spd’s and forgot my flats so dont want to take on anything too gnar while im still a little shakey

Golspie is good. Not too far from Inverness. There’s also Learnie Red Rock Trails on the Black Isle. I’ve not ridden those yet though.

Fancy a local blast, try going up to the mast at craig dunain. It’s 5min drive from city center. Recommend you go to Highland Bicycle shop in the city center, speak to the guys who work there. They would be happy to help you out. They used to do weekly runs on a Wednesday night. Might be worth a visit.
Strathpeffer- 15/ 20min drive north- home of the strathpuffer 24hr race. Square wheels cycle shop in the town center, again good start point for advice and routes.
Learnie Red Rock- 20min drive on way to cromarty. Blue,Red, black and orange runs.
Hope you find something different, have a good one.

No need to head 30,40,50 mile from Inverness for good riding unless you deffo want to hit the man made stuff.

Golspie is superb but is definitely not “gnar” (do people say it is?). All the difficulties have chicken runs, the rest of it is a very flowing trail.

However Druidh advice is best, the natural riding available up there will provide more fulfilment than any trail centre ever could.

If you are going to golspie, do balblair on the same day, awsome trails, more rock and north shore than you can shake a stick at. Only 30mins from golspie
