Are any better than others? Any to avoid? Thinking of getting something for my 2010 macbook, how big does the SSD side of things need to be to make a real difference? Seeing some very affordable seagate ones but the SSD element would presumably be quite small (they seem to be very good at neglecting to mention the size of the SSD at all 🙂 )

I wouldn’t be going hybrid for an OS drive, SSD only for an OS Drive. Is there room for another drive in the macbook?

I’d go SSD only and put another drive in using an optibay for storage.

Want to keep the DVD drive in action, plus looking at the procedure to get the optical drive out theres rather too many tiny and delicate connections and wires to break in the process, compared to the HDD thats just plug and play.

I have a Samsung 840 Evo 500Gb in my Mac and it’s awesome. Why bother with a hybrid for the 200 quid that it cost?
