we have been asked by quite a few of our recent wedding guests if we'll have the photos online atall.. I've been looking into it, and i already have a picasa account, and flickr..but is there anything better?

I played about with a blog, but that doesnt really display like i'd want..

any tips? what is the best way to put many images onto the web..

The best is a custom website…

Easiest is probably Picasa Web Albums especially if you already use Picasa.

normally you open an account with a hosting company and they allocate you a certain amount of space for storing web pages and other data – or some less flexible sites like Smugmug offer unlimited storage ($40 pa)

If you want something a bit more advanced than flickr etc. then you might want to try http://www.clikpic.com although you are quite limited by the number of photos you can upload unless you pay a lot for the professional versions.
It's really meant for selling pics on, not just displaying them.

You can also upload to http://www.Photobox.co.uk and have slideshows etc. If people want prints, they can buy direct from your galleries, I think.
You can probably do this on other sites too.

I'm with smugmug here. It's not $40 for the basic, more like $20 I think, but still unlimited. I know you can get free accounts, but I'd rather pay a bit as they should be around a bit longer (hopefully). I use it to back up all my photos as you can set up private areas for stuff you don't want the whole web to see.

The custom side of things is going to cost money, have a look here:

    http://www.names.co.uk/starter-hosting.html

£4.99 a month for a started hosting package, this includes the domain, email, photo stuff etc. etc.

Not suggesting this offers the best value out there but gives you an idea

I've used Gallery 2 in the past and is good when you get it all set up.

    Needs PHP & MySQL.

Opensource so it's free if you have the webspace.

5 minutes is a long time on the internet.
