I started a similar commute (plus MTB riding for fun some evenings and at the weekend) about 6 months ago. I felt pretty wrecked for the first couple of months, but it feels much better now. Some days I’m tired, but once I’m rolling it’s all good. I take it pretty easy some days and go fast when I feel like it.
I really enjoy seeing the sunrise every morning and being outside, even when the weather is balls. When I occasionally have to drive, it feels like something important is missing in my day. The bonus is that if I have a couple of days rest and then go for a MTB ride I feel really strong.
Stick with it, ride at a pace that feels good, and keep eating well.
