One for the wrench wielders on here, acceptable quote for front disks and pad change on an old 206?

I can get the goods for £36 so trying to weigh up my options.

    *wrong forum 😡

i reckon youll pay about 150 at a garage for that – baring in mind taht at a garage you wont be paying 36 quid for the parts….. more like 80/90quid.

    fwiw its about 18 bolts

takes about 45 minutes to do both sides drive in drive out.

caveat is that if anything siezed or broken/breaks when you take it apart then it will take longer and on older motors and with the average DIY’r having shite tools this can be more common than you think.

if all goes smoothly then 30 minutes on your drive. Allow for 1 hour cleaning stuff up and checking other bits as you should.

At a garage budget for 1hr labour (assuming they round up) + parts I guess.

is £36 cheapest parts available? Sounds like £10 per disc + £16 for pads.

    Cheers chaps,

Yes £11 for each disk and rest is pads, cheapest option as it’s a runabout. I’ll get a few quotes and see if one of my trusty mech mates are about, £36 and a slab of beers is appealing.
