    Hello,
I'm after a hotel for close to Glentress and Inners. Good food and beer essential (or a 1 minute walk from pub)
Say about £40 a night or so?

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks, Paul

    Hi,

Check out http://www.visittweedvalley.co.uk – most of what you'll find on there is of good quality, and nearby the trails.

    ive stayed at 2:

peebles hydro do MTBers rate for £50
    hydro

tontine is around the same price £50
    tontine

tontine is right in the centre of peebles, so handy if you want to hit the pubs straight away and has a nice wee bar in it.

hydro is a bit more family orientated, not such a great bar, but does have good facilites like swimming pool, snooker etc etc. great breakfast too.

Id stay at both again, and they do single rooms etc.

We stayed at the Tontine and Hydro over the same weekend a year or so ago. The Tontine p*sses all over the Hydro IMHO. Wouldn't entertain the Hydro again but I'd be back to the Tontine in a flash – much more friendly staff, much more relaxed atmosphere, more bike friendly and much better located.

We stayed at the Traquair Arms when doing the coast & castles ride (newcastle to edinburgh). Nice place, good food & had decent bike storage around the back… seemed to be quite a few mtber's in.

The Green Tree Hotel in Peebles is good, has its own carpark and the owners let us put our bikes into a store room in the hotel, prices vary depending on how many are in the rooms, think it was £35 pp in a twin but we just paid £25 pp for 4 sharing a family room
