Whilst in Morzine next week I'd like to try some horse which I know to be a delicacy in France.

Can anyone recommend a horse butcher either in or on the way to Morzine (will be driving).

I've tried the regular butcher towards Le Sherpa but they do not sell it.

I'm thinking of getting a nice juicy fillet and cooking it on the BBQ.

Can't agree with you lucky, I always make sure to get some horse when in France, I love it. You can afford much nicer cuts than you can with beef, so you get a really great steak.

You need to look out for a Chevalier.

Quite a few supermarkets also sell horse meat.

    I love it.

The big Carrefour on the way into Thonon should have horsemeat. My local one does.

Boucheries chevalines are not actually that common, although there is one in Annemasse (and plenty in Geneva), according to Google.

Only time I've had horse is from a cheap burger van in the Alps after a days rafting. It was possibly the nicest thing I'd eaten to that point. Like cow but a bit more textured and flavoursome.

    FAUX FILLET

If we're going to use the French for "false", can we not also use "filet"?
