Afternoon all.
After swapping my cassette(road 10 speed) from my old wheel to a newly acquired Hope Pro III, I can't get rid of play in the block - despite everything being tight. All spacers are present and correct, but fitting another spacer to the inside of the lowest cog just forces the lock ring further out - meaning it cannot be tightened up.
Is there a specific spacer I'll need in order to get it to stay tight?

There was a thread on this subject a few days ago. Do a search. I seem to remember talk of a half-thickness spacer.
Did a search but couldn't find anything relevant..cheers though.
Have you measured both freehubs to see what the difference in length is?
You've got the 0.75mm 10 speed spacer behind the cassette yes?
just sanding a spacer down now as the length is less than 1mm in the overall freehub length.
@ Njee nah, not heard/used one of those before! And that's with both Campag and Sram..Hmm.
Dunno about SRAM, but Shimano 10 speed blocks are slightly narrower than 9 speed, so you need a spacer, sounds like that's your problem. Not required on Campag.
Even though I've not needed a 0.75mm spacer on the previous two wheel sets I now do - is this just something to do with the Hope design I presume?

Made the spacer fit, still moves. Moral of the story: don't buy Hope hubs with alloy bodies.

irrespective of the wheels you used before - shimano cassettes need that 0.75 spacer when used on any 9spd compatible hub - were your old wheels older shimano 10spd specific hubs ?
I've put the spacer (0.75mm+/-) on - they still move. Yes, the old sets of wheels were Shimano 10speed specific.
