Entries for the Junior race are still open.
    Click

Entries for the senior race will open again FOR 24 HOURS ONLY[/u] on Jan 10th.

There will be no entries on the day.

For the kiddie race you just need to turn up. With a kiddie.

Thats for teenagers I was loking at pitting my lad against your lad…… they could discuss face plants and show their scars afterwards

My lad will be at his Grandma’s house.

The kiddie’s race will be sorted out on the day by British Cycling. They’ll sort the little ones out into various age/size groups depending on numbers then let them tear around a course on the start/finish field. This one is free. There will be prizes/goodies too for the kids from the nice people at Buff.

What sort of age are you classing as ‘kiddies’? My 2 girls are 9 and 8.

No idea. British Cycling will make the decision on the day depending on numbers. Everyone who turns up will get a go… and a Buff (until we run out of them).

The kiddie course will be round a flat field so there will be no risks. The youth course will take in a good chunk of the HTN track but will miss out all of the stupid stuff.

I’m tiny. Can I enter the Junior race?

You, my little friend, are going to end up tied to the Target Tree at the bottom of The Chin unless you sign up on Jan 10th.

Why such early starts for both races? Is it a local race for local people?

Because we have to have it all cleared up before it goes dark and pulling down 200 signs, several km of tape and half a dozen gazeebos (gazeebi?) takes time.

    gazeebos (gazeebi?)

I think it is ‘gazeebi’; I think it is.

I want it to be ‘gazeebi’. 😥

Kiddy race only on the field, phfft !
My nephew has already ridden the man made stuff, including the big berms, although he did cry at the first attempt.

Kiddie race and full blown race happen at the same time. Mixing the two would be irresponsible.

We used to mix the two at Beastway. The Youth riders would set off about 40 mins into the main race so they’d only do the final 20 mins. Proper pain in the arse if you were racing and came out onto the start straight a few seconds after they’d started. All these little mobile chicanes suddenly on the course! 😉

    9am isn’t early. 10am is almost midday.

9am is kind of early if you live a huge distance away

you’re right. All these years we’ve been getting it wrong. We’ll change the start time.
    What time would you prefer?

It’s OK, thankfully my lad kindly broke his hand playing rugby today so I get to stay in bed a bit longer.

Hi my lads five and would love to take part in the kiddies race. I am just concerned about the terrain is it on a surfaced area around a field or actually on the grass. Thanks in advance pete.

it’s on the grass. The kids won’t be going out of view.
