    Im a little confused by the different models on offer from Fox.

    I don't understand all the F series, RLC or RL bits.

    With Rockshox i get whats what but with Fox im lost.

    Is there like a U-turn versio of the Fox Forks?

    Cheers

    TALAS = travel adjust.
    R = Rebound
    RL = Rebound and Lockout
    RLC = Rebound, Lockout and Compression Damping adjust

    Float = air
    Vanilla/Van = Coil

    ah cheers mate, that helps alot.

    Can they be adjusted say a RLC fork set at 140, is there spacers like a Rockshox fork?

    The Floats can be adjusted with spacers to 100mm, 120mm and 140mm

    I believe the F-Series are only 100mm and 120mm, I've got 140mm floats so I don't know about the F-Series for sure.

    talas is on the fly adjustable, floats have spacers like rockshox internaly, dos'nt matter if they are r's, rl's or rlc's
    i think vanillas are fixed travel now, early vanillas had spacers as well

    ah, the forks im looking at are Fox F series 32 RLC but not sure if they are 140mm or lower?

    thinking 140 might make my front end pretty high.

    Float and F-Series are subtly different and if it's an F-Series it won't go to 140mm, only the Floats do.

    its definitely f series so they are probably 120mm right?

    Probably, where I'm uncertain though is whether the F-Series can travel adjust and if they can, I'm think you can only travel adjust down. So I think an F-120 can be dropped to 100, but an F100 cannot be upped to 120…

    f120s can be spaced to 100, floats will do 100 120 140, the f120s have different lower legs that are lighter than the standard float/talas/vanilla which all use the same lower legs

    it doesnt say on the fork anywhere what version, just f series 32

    Where are you buying them from?

    is the lower leg arch scooped out or has it got cross braceing on the inside
    if its scooped out its a f120 if it as cross braceing its a float, thats part of the weight saving on an f series

    ive just looked on the fox forks website and they must be 2008 and the f120 because the graphics are different for the other years.

    is there a way of telling from looking at the fork what travel they are? e.g. serial number that relates to model?

    I know they are 2008 F series but not sure if they are 120 or 100mm.

    measure the stantions, fox dont have much if any extra leg showing so if they have 120-125ish leg showing thats your travel,
    just measured all the ones we have, f80s, van 125s, talas 140s and they all have about 5-7mm extra lengh on top of the travel so if yours are 120s they should show 125mm ish leg or 105ish for 100s

    the measurement from the hub to the crown is 18.4 inches according to the fox site that should be 120 right.
