Have a quite invasive bush in my garden – can anyone tell me what it is?

It has no flowers, so it’s not much to look at. It also has these growths on the branches, like a fungus maybe, so I was thinking of ripping them all out (already shifted a ton of the stuff clearing a veg patch).

    Symphoricarpos alba

Probably, commonly known as Snow, wax or ghostberry. It is a big family so could be another Symphoricarpos.

Thks Shackleton – I’m not sure it is that, though, as it has no flowers or fruits at all. Just green leaves (there are some yellow flowers mixed in with that top photo but that’s another bush). Pictures of S. albus show white things – Do some varieties of S. alba not have these?

A bush with nasty looking growths. I’d get rid of that if I was you. Removing it will offer up lots of useful space for other plants/ uses etc.

You need to know your victim’s name before you murder it?
