I seem to replace my Cane Creek S3 headset annually on my Gary Fisher HiFi. Although not too expensive to replace is it worth changing tack and fitting a quality unit instead.

Hope and Chris King come in nice colours and reportedly last for ages so are they worth it?

I just put a Hope headset on my Zesty to replace the stock one.
The front end feels more “taut” for a start, and the bearings are replaceable so it will only cost about a tenner to replace those when they wear out.

The semi-integrated Hope unit for the Zesty only comes in black though 🙁

Ooh… The usual ‘is king worth the money’….

Just get a used one off here for £50 or so. Awesome value at that price as long as you get a good one.
