Need to recover data from a deceased Laptop Hard Disk, software option already tried. Looking at sending to a company, know it will not be cheap. Any recommended companies ?

Bag it in the freezer for a while is one I’ve heard. Though quite how you stop the condensation I beyond me.

I wouldn’t do this if you’re going to send it away, you stand a very real chance of making it worse.

Make backups next time, they’re a lot cheaper.

Kroll or disklabs both reputable but expensive. Freezer trick is a bit discredited, much like putting it in an oven for a bit to “reflow” or “a sharp bang on a desk to free the heads” (yes people have tried this!).

When you say you’ve tried software, what exactly have you tried? And what is the critical data, mainly pics and docs or something bigger, e.g. SQL database?

Here’s a story of hope I liked… Go straight to the big boys would be my advice.
