Has anyone done the bridleway between hayfield and edale via edale cross / jacobs over the last week?

    Is it passable on bike?

    If not passable on foot?

    Any pics?

    Cheers,

    Col.

I did it on New Year's Day and there was a massive amount of drifting across the middle section – from the first bridleway junction pretty much to the start of the descent down Jacob's. There's been a fair amount of snow since then – it took us three hours to get from Hayfield to Rushup via the Roych the other day. The snow round here has formed big drifts in any sort of hollow and the lee of walls, like proper block the trail drifts, and where it's lower, it's unconsolidated and mostly like riding on wet sand. I was out today and it was mostly quite hard going. I can't say for definite, but I suspect the Jacob's track will be a proper slog with some big unrideable sections. I'm sure you can walk it, but then you can walk pretty much anything if you're determined to.
