Been asked to and its only a small item so thinking its worth it.

can I do it? will I get penalised for it?

Do it. You'll save the ebay charges.

I did some time ago, I think you lose listing fees, but that's about it.

I did it for a friend of a friend who saw my auction, but I wouldn't do it in response to requests through ebay.

I'll only do it if no one has already bid.

    You won't get penalised.

Cancel the bid and close the auction. No penalty.

I do it if the offer a good price and come and collect. Saves fees (Ebay and Paypal), time going to PO and any none paying bidders.

I usually cancel the auction after the item has been collected though incase they back out. Saves any relisting that way.

I did once, then realised that every time I listed something somebody would ask me to end the auction and sell to them privately.

So now, never. It's an auction site not the classifieds.

Take you chance – end early and the guy may not pay (no comeback on that one), leave it to run and get a better price.

Don't forget you lose all ebay/paypal protection doing it on your own if that worries you.

If they offered you a price put a Buy It Now on the listing and let them buy it.

Can't put Buy-It-Now up if anyone is bidding on auction alas.

If they offered a buy it now price you're happy with and they are willing to collect and pay cash, why would you pay the fees to Ebay/Paypal?

If they not collecting and paying cash, just let the auction end so you're protected.

You should direct the question directly to Hora. And re-phrase it: Have you ever NOT stopped an ebay auction early? 🙂

Spoken to the bidder and he is like "if you can get it go for it"
