I know they where 27.2 so unless they changed from 2008 they should be the same

27.2 just seems a bit loose!

could just be bad frame/seat post tolerance, all my fisher are 27.2 bar the really old ones which where like the treks and had 31.6 seat post size

Definately not 31.6mm 27.2 seems ok just a little loose when you initially slot it in.
