I’ve got a White Industries single speed freewheel. I want a tool for removing it. I have found plenty on eBay. Just have a question. From the photos the distance across the pins (diameter) looks different for some of the tools. Are there different sizes I need to be aware of? I just want a simple 4 pin tool.

    Cheers

charliethebikemonger does one for about £6.00 IIRC.

The pins aren’t for removing the freewheel, they are for dismantling the unit to get access to the bearings and pawls. It’s the 4 big slots that are for removing the freewheel for the hub.

I got a Park tool (51605) from CR for 12.99, although it doesn’t look like the photo at all so it will fit.

To be pedantic badly – when I said the distance across the pins I was talking about the tools which have pins to fit the slots on the freewheel. Thanks anyway. Gonna try the bikemonger as his price is about the same as eBay tools.

    Ta all.

    I stand corrected.
I bet there is someone out there though who has tried to remove the green/blue anodised ring hoping that it will get the freewheel body off?
