Quick question
Fox recommends 5ml of fluid one side and 15ml fluid in the Talas side. Last time I did a strip down and clean I put back in 10ml one side and 20ml Talas side. The forks were noticeably more plush.
Is this okay, will I do any damage?

or did you mean they felt plusher than the last time you had freshly stripped and cleaned them?
How old are the forks, could they have bedded in a bit more,a dnt hen the clean and lube jsut made them nice and fresh again?
A little bit more Oil in the lowers will keep them lubed for longer and do no harm, but unlikely to make them feel noticeably plusher. Oil levels in other parts can be quite sensitive and you didn't mention whether you were talking about oil in the lowers or in the spring and damper assemblies.

Yes, that. They are plusher than last time I cleaned them using exact fluid levels. Having had new stanchions a year ago due to bad maintenance, I'm now a little paranoid so clean them regularly - every 25-30hrs.
They are 2009 forks
The Talas are air forks so there's only a little oil in the forks for lube only.

From a printed card I was give some time ago.
Confused now as the Fox site also says 15cc (15ml) Talas side and 25cc (25ml) to the other side so there's no consensus.
Anyone know for sure?
Think I may have found my own answer...
These are 36mm Talas R forks. If I do a lower leg/dust seal clean, maintenance routine then I only replace 5ml one side and 15ml Talas side. As the bike is upside down at this point there is still oil in the uppers etc as these are open bath forks. If this oil was to come out then the amounts going back in are therefore higher. Advice seems to be not to turn the bike right way around so to speak and drain that oil also (best for the LBS to do that?)
