Finally finished building up my new bike and took it out for it’s inaugural ride in the Pentlands yesterday, picture is post ride, pre-wash.

2010 XL Turner 5-Spot, everything new (bought in the sales, including the frame, wherever possible) apart from wheels, seat post and saddle.

Shout out to the good folk at TBC in Edinburgh for fitting headset, stem and trimming the forks!

I was really quite nervous that I would be disappointed with the ride. Well, that couldn’t have been further from the truth!

First impressions are that the 5-Spot is ace. Plush ride, that took everything in it’s stride. Could not feel any bob at all, very chuckable, tracked through the mud with no problems. A flying carpet of a ride.

Next trip will have to be a visit to Inners to give it and me a proper work out.

    In summary, pleased as punch!

Blummin’ great bike so far toons. No doubt that the bike is more capable than I am that’s for sure. But I look forward to trying to do it (and me) justice!
