  • Filtering and knocked off – where do I stand ?

Riding down between parked cars and stationery vehicles when one of them pulls left to try and squeeze out.

I’m alongside him at this point and now have cuts and bruises and a squashed front wheel/ forks …

Lesson learnt or can I claim from him ?

Of course you should pursue it.

I think you can join the CTC after the event, and they will represent you.

The CTC website has lots of advice on what to do if knocked off your bike.

    Probably a bit of both.
    You can probably claim successfully.
I no longer filter anything much more than walking pace on the inside of cars. Just not worth the gains for me. Everyone’s situation is different though.

Yep. Always filter really slowly, I’ve heard your story several times before, and also come within inches of a proper big accident myself.

If you were going quickly I’m not sure you’ll be able to put all the blame on him.

    I’ve cover through BC.

It was all quite amicable really and we swapped details.

He was queuing and then decided to try and squeeze past traffic queuing to go right.

I was on the floor before I knew it.
