Went out this morning for a spin on my cx bike around Bristol (way too much ice on the back roads to risk a road ride, and didn't feel like MTB). It was bl00dy cold, but clear blue skies and sunshine, my second favourite weather (after clear blue skies and sunshine, but hot!).
Trails were lovely, when I rode the same route two weeks ago a lot of it was unrideable, gloopy as hell with no grip at all, cue much comedy wheelspin. Today they were frozen solid and grippy. The same couldn't be said of some of the lanes however, lots of sliding about on sheet ice. A great morning to be out!
