This week, Spencer Trappist. It’s a 6% abv so I assume like Rochfort 6. This evening I’ve had the Beavertown 8 ball Rye IPA which was good + Beavertown Quelle which was a bit light and thin, probably should have tried them the other way round.

as a class – I’m enjoying various versions of Saison beers currently.

Not a big fan of the overly hoppy IPA types myself.

Counting down the days of this Dry January. Why do it to ourselves?

same. me and the wife do it each year just to prove that we can. seems a good time to have a month off after the excesses of christmas/new year. we’ve always said if we ever give in one year, thats when we know we should have a bit of a look at ourselves and ask if we’re maybe a bit too dependent on it.

Recently had to change drinking venue, now currently frequenting the Flemish Weaver in Corsham, which fortunately changes beers fairly regularly. Favourite at the moment is Hopback Winter Lightning, a very pale ale ABV 5.5, malty, with enough hoppyness to give a bit of edge, very smooth, and goes down rather too well!

St Bernardus Prior 8 is my favourite. Number 10 is meant to be the best beer around, but 8 suits me better.
