More or less snap, really. Love it late at night, when it's all quiet…
Saucerful of Secrets probably fave album, for the title track and Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun, but Wish You Were Here for Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Animals, Piper At The Gates Of Dawn- ooh, most of it really. Not a fan of owt more recent than Final Cut though. Got **** after that.
Some critics might say it's all ****, but then they listen to Phil Collins so aren't to be trusted anyway.
as a whole album gotta be final cut for me. I first listened to that after loads of guinness and few dodgy smokes on a last night blow out before i flew out to war the next day. Kinda weird really lol good times 🙂
The stuff by Sid Barratt was dire IMO, never understood the fuss about him, maybe you had to be caught up in the moment at the time. Saucer Full is excellent (except corporal clegg, which sounds like Barrett tripe).

Conversely, I think everything after Saucerful became increasingly beige and soulless sterile-rock-by-numbers until the plodding and the wailing and the **** dire, passionless gilmour solos and the suburban middle management saxaphones dreary shite of the 70s. IMO, like.
It reminds me of sitting in the bedroom that I shared with my older brothers, wondering what that strange sweet smelling smoke was and getting the munchies from passively inhaling it -mmmmm toast and brown sauce 💡
Syd would have fitted right in here. I mean, he had a bike with things to make it look good; he'd have given it to you too but he'd borrowed it. Shine on you Crazy Diamond has a lot of meaning if you remember Syd, crazy would appear to have been an apt description of where he went.
Anything Mr Waters had an input to is good (apart from the opera Sh*te) lots of great stuff, but i guess i now take it for granted-which is sad 🙁 sheep still plays in my head when riding..in Wales! Meddle is class. Amused to Death is inspired (even the 3d gimmicky sound)
Seen MacFloyd the last few years. They are very good too. It's got to be the Delicate Sound of Thunder album and the Comfortably Numb version on there. Hey You and Wish you were here get honourable mentions.
Watched them at the Hyde Park Bob Geldolf benefit gig a few years back… Old blokes trying desperately not to make eye contact with each other, TBH they didn't even look like they wanted to be on the same stage
