I have a light in the kitchen with three small spotlights. Now one of the lights has decided to keep blowing the bulb. I replace the bulb, turn on, bulb goes pop 🙁

Wondering if this means there is a fault with the fitting and I need to buy a new one, or something I can diagnose and fix, or have I got the wrong sort of electricity? I prefer not to have a real live electrician out if I can help it, as it’s generally cheaper to just replace stuff 🙁

If it’s the same bulb of the three then you probably have a duff fitting to that bulb.

If you are competent to replace the fitting yourself, then you are probably competent enough to remove the current one and dismantle it to see what is afoot. Power off blah blah etc.

Might just be loose internal wiring on the fitting, or it could be a new fitting required.
