Quite a frequent site on New Forest night rides. We did creep up on a white Nova once and turned on all our lights (just for a laugh, nothing voyeuristic honest) to find it was four lads. We havent done it again.

Less common is 'goating' – and no lie – coming out of a forest inclosure near Hythe one night we met two blokes, each with a can of tennents in one hand and a goat on a rope in the other.

The mind boggles!

Ok. Chorlton water park. Toyota Yaris (old shape)- two girls and one bloke. All naked in the same car. I felt rage/anger and alittle horny. The girls looked at me then carried on. He just smirked.

mmmm reminds me of the time I was bouldering over at Dove Stones; Walking back to the car after a hard days climbing I was met by a drop dead gorgeous hottie in the tightest dress and boots I've ever seen accompined by two lads one sporting a camera, the other a tripod. She gave me a lil smile and wink as we passed and i've regretted ever since not turning on my heels to offer my services for a walk on part 🙂

Mugdock is a famous spot in Glasgow for both dogging and mtbing. Despite riding there regularly for years I've never seen any clear signs of people at it. But we have a dog walker who takes our dog for a walk each day and every time I see her she has a story of who she's caught up there that day. Usually it's a pair of teachers from my old school, but today was a 50ish taxi driver and a teenage girl…

There's a car park in my woods which is terrible for it. Short of doing something illegal i don't know how to get rid of them. I wouldn't mind so much if there was the odd glimpse of female flesh but it's just a sausage browning party. I generally just give them 1800 lumens between the eyes and ride away as quick as poss. People ask me why I still go there. It's the same reason I still go to Glasgow Airport or London, we shouldn't have to change our lives for them. I would love to hear of any clever methods of encouraging them to move elsewhere. The day my 5yo son asked me what that man was doing as we passed a quarry with the dog was the day I declared war. It was a 2pm on a sunday and 50yds from a family visitor attraction.

I remember waiting for a couple of mates in an Edinburgh outkirts carpark for a night ride.
As I was unhitching the bike an Astra parked in the (very dark)far corner or the carpark flashed their lights at me. 😯
Since I didn't know the guys from the forum yet, I thought it was maybe a fellow rider, but when I clocked the interior light on and the windows steamed up from a distance, I rode away in the other direction pdq and waited at the gate for the others !

it's why we hardly ever start from car parks for night rides – loads of them are used for this sort of thing…

Doing the night shift in an old job I used to cut through a car park near a local park as the alternative was the pitch black park or a mile and a bit diversion round the edge , the doggers used to routinely be bouncing away in their hatchbacks as I went through. I stopped going that way after an encounter with three aroused young men who saw me walking by and got lairy as I had put them off their stroke.

Amongst the expletives one of them had the gall to call me a w**ker, I kid you not.

I remember a few years back descending some steps between a car park and the local canal – bunch of lads, one on his knees face buried in another lads crotch. I was riding an oh so silent single speed but with a big light on.

I said good evening as did they back. Carried on thinking what the hell was that about.

DrDog, I can imagine. Girl who I used to work with used to go to allsorts of parties, meets and married couple-sessions from the internet.

I've ridden around rivington many many times at all times of day and night and only once found a young couple in a car, not exactly what i'd consider "dogging". I also ride around Mugdock and have never seen any such action here, but I suppose that's probably because I'm there at odd times.

Ainsdale beach (sefton coast) seems fairly popular though, and actually quite intimidatingly, so much so I resent it. I'm all for people enjoying themselves given a quiet moment wherever they like, but on a number of occasions I've turned up at the beach to try to get a couple of hours in (kitesurfing) as the sun sets and found cars "moving in" as I get changed into my wetsuit, then people appearing near the car. And on more than one occasion the missus and I have gone for a bit of a sunbath in the edge of the dunes and spotted blokes in the long grasses beating one out – nice, real nice 🙄

I used to be fairly liberal about such things but as I get older I find it more disturbing and more unpleasant.

I dont think theres anything wrong with it at all. Its part of a liberal/democratic society. I dont want to participate but I dont see why others shouldnt. After all, its between consenting adults.

If a mate told me he enjoys it I'd probably spend half an hour asking him all about it in the pub. Same with if a mate told me he likes banging other men. Not because I want to see if I like it- just because I'd like to know peoples thinking, the rituals etc. Mainly- I dont judge people.

I love the term 'seagulling'- still laughing over that one.

Can't say I've had any dogging encounters – thankfully. But I do remember flying down Telegraph Row a few years back, when I carried on past the usual exit and found myself startling some medieval warrior types. A couple of them (in their shiny chainmail brandishing swords, maces and shields) looked at me like I was an alien. I guess they must have re-enacting something because I don't remember passing through any wormholes.

Down here in deepest surrey we often see the doggers in some of the car parks on our night rides. It's amazing how a few thou lumens from a group of MTBers can surprise people. Probably best not to look if you are of a senstive disposition.

The "best" one was when we were riding over Pitch/Leith hill last summer. We had just come down telegraph road and as we came round one of the final corners there was a absolute babe in a v.small bikini sitting on the low branch of a tree. I guess that on a beach it wouldn't be too out of the ordinary but in the middle of surrey woods it was a fanastic site. We all rode past slowly and when we got to the end of the trail we were all saying WTF – did you see that. Then we did another lap of the trail to make sure 🙂

Who was on the STW christmas ride near Ramsbottom a few years back? I seem to recall a couple parked up down a green lane for a bit of afternoon fun. They looked quite surprised to see about 20 chortling mountain bikers 🙂

We’ve got a ‘knicker tree’ on one of our routes (I find it strangely interesting )

Someone has drapped bra’s, knickers, all sorts of stuff over the branches and lined a clearing with the pages from porno mags.

We also found a full length mirror and a blow up doll in a clearing once.

They’re a funny lot Nottingham way.

As a Notts local I’m surprised I’ve never seen that, but I’m not sure I can think of a way of asking where it is without feeling like I might get pointed and laughed at! 🙂

In my time living in Bukhurst Hill and Leytonstone i witnessed some horrific acts that I have tried to erase from my memory. WTF do people get out of that I ask myself.

My most recent , umm, incident was a sneaky daytime ride through the tracks of Wellington culminating in a climactical descent to the coast at Red Rocks. Seriously, this is the middle of nowhere. Halfway down the final rocky chute i passed a young lady provding oral pleasure to a gent. They had the dignity to move off the riding line by, well, it must have been 2 feet at the most. I could have high fived him had I felt like it. Incredible, wtf.

That one at the top of Hudds- when can we have a nightride then? 🙂
