No offence to anyone but most mountain bikers esp at trail centres (except for those who look like builders) were probably bullied at school.
Let face it - most of you are probably sub-13stone, weedy and nervous around ladies.....bingo!
That easily wins the prize for the most stupid and ridiculous statement I have ever read on this forum, and that is saying something. I presume that you're a real man of steel Hora and an instant hit with the ladies, or should that be laddies?

Well, when I had it at school, I let it lie as long as I could, them flipped my lid and it ended in blood and tears for one bully. I find they tend to stop if you do that.
But you can't do that on the intenet, so the same thing goes unchecked, especially if the mods happen to think it's funny......

I'm not a man of iron. At school I was neither the nerd or the hard ones- I was one of the inbetweenies
On a serious note though. I saw some of the posts and I also witnessed what 'Fruit' did. I've also seen a photo of him. I put 2 + 2 together. Some folks invective was thrown his way due to his stature/build. They knew that he'd never corner them and ask them why they said what they did or beat them up.
If the lad was 6f2/16stone and had Tony Ellsworths personality I dont think they'd risk saying as much

Hora - what I said to him was nothing to do with his physical characteristics but solely to do with the shoddy way he treated my friends and the lies he told about me.
I had an exchange of e mails off forum with him and he was threatening me and then he lied about me on the forum.
One thing I note with interest is that since my spat with him - a part of which was over the illegal and unfair guarantee terms he quoted that gave less protection than the sale of goods act - he has amended his website so it is now within the law.

TJ- I've not had any problems with him. However whenever I have had a problem with anyone selling/retailers they have remained largely nameless. I say largely- I dont recall naming and shaming on a forum whilst I was pursuing a satisfactory outcome.
Saying all this- Im not defending him (or mean to- didnt even realise that I was slipping into defending mode!). The actions (after a while) come across as aggressive/etc etc.
Its just something I will talk up against after a while.

Hora - I do accept I may have gone OTT. I did hold out an olive branch to him which he rejected and continued to tell lies about me.
I get very angry tho when people spread lies about me as he did.

No, he was called out on his behaviour. Fred wasn't bullied off the site, he was banned because he couldn't stop being a dick. Frenchie flounced off 'cause he had a skin thinner than a very thin thing. Most people who create a shit-storm on here and then disappear; do so 'cause they get banned, not because they get bullied off
This forum is robust, always has been, and TBH most of the trolls/stirrers that inhabit it now are pale imitations of the ones that used to be on here...live by the sword...

Did you mean to type that into a gamers forum?? not that I've ever been to a trail centre, so can't comment on that, but the vast minority of mtbers fit that description ime.

I think sometimes the mob mentality can get a little out of hand and occasionally some people cross the line (be that line common decency / sexism / misogny etc) but generally they get pulled up on it by the majority (and occasionally the mods). The forum's not a public service but part of a business so there has to be some moderation whether that be of people trying to get away with dodgy business practices (and then getting personal) or others posting images that border on the offensive.
It's the internet. At the end of the day if you don't like it or people are getting out of line put the keyboard down and go riding / have fun with your kids / wash the cat or whatever.
